BACK BRANCH, KY – A Magoffin County man is arrested after allegedly beating his wife with a metal bar.
It happened at a Back Branch residence when the Magoffin County Sheriff’s Department responded to an assault complaint. The wife of 68-year old Carl Fletcher told officers that although she and her granddaughter have active EPO’s against him he still came to the house and hit her several times with a metal bar resulting in a large split on her arm, a dislocated finger and a fractured leg. Fletcher’s wife went on to tell officers that after assaulting her he took a DVR that contained her home security footage and told her he would kill her if she told anyone and then drove off in her granddaughters car.
Carl Fletcher has been charged with 2nd degree assault, 1st degree burglary, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and violation of a Kentucky EPO. He has since been released on bond.
