A Virginia man is facing felony charges after allegedly injuring his wife in a vehicle crash in Pikeville.
According to court documents, 30-year-old Brandon James Justus of Hurley, Virginia, was arrested Saturday afternoon. Pikeville Police responded to the scene of a single vehicle, vehicle-versus-utility pole crash along U.S. 23-South Mayo Trail and found Justice and his wife, Chrystie Justice were inside the vehicle.

Officers wrote in court documents that Chrystie Justice had injuries to her head and arms, and witnesses at the scene told police that Chrystie Justice had claimed that Brandon Justus was attempting to kill her after the couple had been “fighting and arguing”. Brandon Justus told police his wife had bitten him while he was driving and officers, court documents said, found a bite mark on his arm.
As a result of the incident, Brandon Justus was charged with felony counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and second-degree assault. Chrystie Justice was also arrested, but on charges not related to the wreck. The investigation into the incident is ongoing by Pikeville Police.
