PAINTSVILLE, Ky. — A Paintsville man has been arrested after allegedly attacking his son with a knife.

Paintsville Police were called to Sixth Street over a report of a man trying to stab another man.

When they arrived, they found Tracy Mollette, 51, sitting behind a vehicle. When they approached him, he ran away, but gave up a short time later.

Officers spoke with Mollette’s son, who said he had been in an altercation with his father. The son had a cut on his forearm which required medical attention.

Mollette reportedly admitted to police that he had been smoking meth just before the fight with his son. He was arrested on charges of second-degree assault, public intoxication and fleeing police.
