Man indicted after officer is stuck with a dirty needle

PIKEVILLE, Ky. –  On Wednesday, the Pike County Grand Jury indicted two men connected to an incident that happened a couple weeks ago that resulted in a Pikeville Police Officer being stuck with a dirty needle.  Police officials say officers responded to a room at a local motel on September 18th, after receiving a call about possible drug activity.  When the door opened, 27 year old Jordan Conn, of Harold, was seen reaching into the waistband of his pants for what officers later discovered was a .380 automatic pistol.  Also in the room, and arrested, was Michael Kidd of Pikeville.  Officers discovered and confiscated a large amount of drugs and cash in the room, including cocaine.  After hearing testimony from officers about that night, the Grand Jury, this week, indicted both men.  Conn is facing charges of Assault in the 3rd degree for the officer being stuck with a needle in his pocket, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and first degree trafficking in a controlled substance.  Kidd is also facing first degree drug trafficking charges.  Both men remain lodged in the Pike County Detention Center.
