Man jailed for DUI after police find half empty bottle of vodka in cup holder

PIKEVILLE, Ky. –  A Pike County man is in jail after police found an open bottle of Vodka in the cupholder following a collision Monday in Pikeville.  Monday afternoon around 4pm, Pikeville police officers responded to a collision near the Buckley’s creek intersection on US 23.  Officers found 24 year old Zachary Clevinger sitting behind the wheel of a vehicle that had rear ended another, and noticed a half empty bottle of vodka in the cup holder of the center console. When asked to exit the vehicle, the citation says Clevinger refused and reached for the gearshift in an attempt to flee.  At that point, officers deployed a taser.  Clevinger continued to resist, but officers were able to place him under arrest and transport him to the Pike County Detention Center.  Clevinger was charged with DUI and resisting arrest.
