Man videoed nearly hitting a school bus head-on arrested for DUI

PIKEVILLE, Ky. –  A Pike County man was arrested Wednesday for DUI after concerned citizens took steps to lend officers a helping hand.  This video of a vehicle swerving on and off the road was taken by a concerned motorist Wednesday afternoon, who also notified police of the potentially dangerous situation. Everything was resolved safely, however, when Pikeville Police Officers arrived to the parking lot of the Shelbiana Food City.  The video is a scary reminder of what happens when an impaired driver gets behind he wheel.  Captain Thompson says motorists who take the extra step to report things like this are a much appreciated extra tool for law enforcement.

53 year old Kevin Way Hopkins of Greasy Creek was arrested and charged with DUI. However, Pikeville Police officials say the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are likely.
