Pikeville Ky: Pikeville Medical Center announced today that its weekly newspaper, The Medical Leader, will cease publication, effective April 6th. The newspaper began life in 1999 as a 10-page tabloid and grew into an award-winning weekly newspaper. Pikeville Medical Center CEO Donovan Blackburn says the hospital is at a turning point in evaluating its marketing strategy and plans to invest more energy in its digital efforts. PMC will launch a new website in early April and plans to focus more attention to the website and social media, as a way to more effectively engage with patients, their families and the region.
