PIKEVILLE, Ky. –  Last month, the Pike County Fiscal Court announced a significant increase in solid waste rates across the county.  And, recently, Pike Judge Executive Ray Jones said the court is also taking steps to improve the overall service given to residents by the solid waste department.  Those steps include moving solid waste employees from five 8-hour days to four 10-hour days and doing trash pickup Tuesday through Friday.  Judge Jones encourages anyone with suggestions for improving the county’s solid waste service to call the solid waste department at 606-432-6245 and pass those along.
