MARTIN, Ky. — A man wanted by police on several charges was arrested following a chase Tuesday night.
Martin police officer Brad Stidham was patrolling Main Street around 9 p.m., when he spotted a motorcycle matching the description of one that had previously fled from police. Stidham also recognized the motorcyclist as Michael Crum, who he knew to be wanted on a number of felony warrants, including bail jumping, cultivating marijuana and aggravated DUI, along with numerous traffic violations.
Stidham attempted to pull over the motorcycle, but reported that the bike sped away. The officer pursued the motorcycle onto Crum Branch at Arkansas Creek, where the motorcyclist lost control on the rocky road.
Police allege that Crum then tried to run away, but Crum caught up to him after a short distance, then used a TASER on him after saying Crum failed to comply with commands.
Crum was arrested and booked on the original charges, along with new charges of fleeing police, resisting arrest and several other drug and traffic charges.
