PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A man awaiting trial in a Floyd County murder case now has new legal troubles, following a federal indictment on weapons charges.
Wesley Glenn Martin, 45, of Wayland, is charged with possessing an unregistered firearm and possessing a firearm despite a previous felony conviction.
The indictment alleges he had two sawn-off shotguns in his possession.
Martin was charged last year with the murder of 26-year-old Jordan Tackett, whose body was found in a shallow grave on Martin’s property in April of 2019. That case is still pending in Floyd Circuit Court.
In 2012, Martin pleaded guilty to assault and wanton endangerment in Knott County.
