Floyd County’s Goldie Conn dies at 111

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — The Floyd County woman who was Kentucky’s oldest living person has died.

Goldie Mae Conn is originally from Banner and has spent the past few years at Prestonsburg Health Care.

She was born July 12, 1909, the sixth of 14 children. She was the widow of Delzie Conn and is survived by a daughter and four sons, 23 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, 69 great great grandchildren, and 19 great great great grandchildren.

Her birthdays had become a celebration at the Prestonsburg Health Care.
On her 102nd birthday, she fulfilled a lifelong dream when former mayor Jerry Fannin gave her a ride on a motorcycle. On other birthdays she was entertained by Sundy Best and Chris Stapleton.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, at Hall Funeral Home in Martin.
