Johnson County, Ky.–Gov. Matt Bevin today announced the winner of the Beautify the Bluegrass contest and the winner is in eastern Kentucky.
“The Paintsville, Johnson County Trail Town Committee decided to take it upon themselves to paint some of the buildings downtown, City Hall, five other buildings, clean up a local park. And what has happened already is that people have come in and seen it from other communities in Kentucky and said we are going to do that in our community. That’s the kind of contagious activity that we had hoped would happen. When good things capture the fascination of people and start to spread. One thing we’ve learned in government is that it’s never as easy to do things you’d hoped to do including funding a bash for a BBQ for a community , but we are going to make it happen, we are going to come to Paintsville. The Lieutenant Governor and I will celebrate with you the beauty of your refurbished downtown.”
The Governor will announce the time and place for the celebration when the details are worked out.
