Pastor remains thankful after church damaged in storm

PAINTSVILLE, Ky. — Among the structures sustaining damage in last night’s storm was the First Baptist Church of Paintsville, which saw its steeple sheared from the building.

But while the storm caused some damage and several moments of fear, Pastor Seth Carter was counting the church’s blessings afterward.

In addition to the steeple, Carter said the only other damage was a small patch on the roof which was leaking. He said he believes insurance will cover the cost of repairs.
