A pedestrian was struck and killed Tuesday evening in Floyd County.

According to the Martin City Police Department, the accident happened on Ky. 80 near the Garrett exit. The wreck involved a single vehicle and the pedestrian.

The Floyd County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene of the incident. The identity of the person killed has not yet been released.

Kentucky State Police is leading the investigation and was assisted at the scene by the Martin City Police Department and the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office.
