Pikeville, Ky.– The Libertarian Party of Kentucky held an Organizing Convention for Kentucky’s 5th District recently.

After the Libertarian Party candidate for President garnered over 50,000 votes in Kentucky’s 2016 presidential election, the Libertarian Party officially qualified for full ballot access in all Kentucky elections.

In Kentucky, the Libertarian Party is governed by the state party and with the chartering of the 5th district, the state now has affiliate parties in every district as well as a quickly growing number of county and city affiliates.

The newly formed party elected to its Executive Committee, Sidney L. Cline III of Pikeville as Chairman, Danny Lunsford of Baxter as Vice-Chair, Chris Short of Somerset as Treasurer, Valerie Cline of Pikeville as Secretary, and Krystal Freeman of Hustonville as At-Large Members.
