PIKE COUNTY, Ky. – A Pike County man is facing felony arson charges after police say he set his house on fire, not once but twice, and then attempted to collect from his insurance company. Last week, a Pike County Grand Jury indicted 82 year old Charles Mosley on two counts of second degree arson, accusing him of setting his house located on Red Bird Lane, on fire twice in a 6 week period. The first fire was on August 30, 2017 and the second on October 7th of the same year. Prosecutors with the Pike Commonwealth Attorney’s Office say Mosley filed an insurance claim in March of 2018. However Kentucky State Police arson investigators concluded that Charles Mosley caused both fires with the intent to collect insurance money. Mosley is scheduled to be arraigned in Pike Circuit Court on the arson charges on May first.
