PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County man arrested on drug charges in Floyd County last year has now seen his case bumped up to federal court.

Back on Aug. 26, a sheriff’s deputy spotted Keith Long, 30, of Wolfpit Branch, driving along U.S. 23 at Harold, towing a pressure washer. The deputy noted Long’s vehicle was half-off the road, so he pulled him over.
Noting that Long seemed nervous, the deputy brought in a K-9 unit to sniff around the car, and the dog immediately alerted on the driver’s side of the truck. The deputy then found a lemonade container with a false bottom, containing 180 grams of meth, 12 grams of heroin and 2 grams of fentanyl.
Long was initially charged with multiple counts of trafficking and other charges in Floyd County. However, he was indicted by a federal grand jury Thursday on a single count of possession of meth and fentanyl with the intent to distribute.
If convicted, he will face a sentence of between five and 40 years in prison.
