Local police and fire departments were treated to lunch Wednesday at Pikeville Elementary School, as a show of the school’s appreciation.

Students and staff took the time yesterday morning to thank local first responders who work to protect them, both at the school and in their community. Pikeville Elementary School Principal Bobby Jones says this is a day his students look forward to.

In addition to thanking the first responders, Pikeville Elementary students were also celebrating their performance in recent test scores.
