PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Last week, some school districts throughout the region canceled classes for several days due to the number of students out sick. And, one pharmacy in Pikeville is taking advantage of a relatively new law in Kentucky that allows pharmacists to work in partnership with a prescribing physician to test people for the flu and strep, and then prescribe medication all in one stop. This is the second week Total Pharmacy Care has been offering the service, and pharmacist Wes Rowe says it’s going well. Total Pharmacy Care is the only pharmacy in eastern Kentucky offering the one stop service.
