PMC receives national recognition for treating chest pain and heart attacks

Pikeville Medical Center was recently recognized on a national level for its performance when treating patients dealing with chest pain and suffering from heart attacks.  PMC is the recipient of the 2019 Platinum Performance Achievement Award from the American College of Cardiology, one of only 226 hospitals nationwide to receive the honor.  The award program recognizes hospitals that have shown sustained, top level performance and quality of care when dealing specifically with patients experiencing chest pain and heart attacks.  This achievement award is based on data collected over a two-year period from hospitals in the American College of Cardiology’s Chest Pain – MI Registry.  The Platinum level award is only presented to hospitals who have maintained a rate of performance of 90% or better for eight consecutive quarters.
