
GRETHEL, Ky. — Police are releasing additional information regarding the death of two Prestonsburg High School students in a weekend crash.
Kendra Moreno, 16, and MaKenna Barnett, 13, were killed in the crash that happened early Sunday morning near Grethel.
According to Kentucky State Police, Marcus Auxier, 20, of Nippa, was driving a pickup with five passengers, including Moreno and Barnett, just before 2:30 a.m., when the truck left the roadway and overturned.
Moreno and Barnett died at the scene. The other four occupants were taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.

A joint funeral will be held for the girls beginning at 2 p.m., Friday, in the Prestonsburg High School gymnasium.
