CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice has allocated the remaining 123 million dollars of the state’s stimulus funding, ahead of a New Year’s Eve deadline.
Under the plan announced Friday, Justice said 48 million dollars would be used to expand nursing education and recruitment.
Another 22 million will be spent for a back-to-work initiative, while 10 million will be used to help first responders.
Smaller amounts will be used to help frontline employees recover pandemic-related costs, expand remote work facilities, upgrade the state fairgrounds, and support food pantries, homeless shelters and the Salvation Army.
