Police in Whitesburg are investigating a shooting at Whitesburg Walmart.

Whitesburg Police Chief Tyrone Field told EKB News that a verbal altercation Monday evening between two male subjects occurred in the Walmart Parking lot. Fields said one of the men retrieved a handgun from his vehicle and fired it at the other. The alleged target of the gunshots was not hit and no one else was injured.

Fields said officers are working to identify the alleged shooter, and charges will be filed once he is arrested.
