WILLIAMSON, W. Va. — Tuesday is the primary election in West Virginia.

Polls will open at 6:30 a.m. and remain open until 7:30 p.m.

Citizens will have the chance to cast their votes for national, state, district and county level representatives.

“If you don’t vote then you don’t have no complaints,” said Mingo County Clerk “Big” Jim Hatfield.

Residents will vote for U.S. Senator, U.S. House of Representatives, State Senator, House of Delegates and Executive Committee. In local races, citizens will vote for County Commissioner, County Executive Committee, Board of Education members and Conservation District Supervisor. There are also other local races in different counties.

“Most of the time, you can tell and you can pick the people that will do a decent job,” added Hatfield.

Sample ballots can be found online on the Secretary of State’s website.
