WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — For the second time this week, an area hospital has been sold. Earlier this week, ARH announced a deal had been reached to purchase St. Joseph Martin Hospital in Floyd County.
Friday, it was announced that Mingo Health Partners, in West Virginia, has agreed to purchase Williamson Memorial Hospital and its affiliated physician practices from Community Health Systems.
Mingo Health Partners is a group formed by Sam Kapourales, Doug Reynolds and Williamson Mayor Charlie Hatfield.
In a statement announcing the sale, Mingo Health Partners said all active employees in good standing would remain employed by the hospital at the same rate of pay and with their years of service recognized.
Physicians will have no change in their privileges.
