Another candidate for U.S. Senator visited the region this week.
U.S. Senate Candidate Amy McGrath visited Eastern Kentucky on Monday. McGrath, who is hoping to win the Democratic nomination to challenge long-serving Republican Senator Mitch McConnell, visited Sol Good Bakery and the East Kentucky Dream Center in Pikeville. McGrath also visited Lizzie B’s Cafe and Bakery and the East Kentucky Science Center in Prestonsburg while in Eastern Kentucky.
Fellow Democrat Charles Booker visited Pikeville last Friday. The two are part of a packed field seeking to unseat McConnell. The Senate Majority Leader faces challenges from seven candidates for the Republican nomination. McGrath and Booker are two of 10 candidates seeking the Democratic nomination.
