Mingo County, WV — The Mingo County Sheriff Department is now collecting donations for its annual “Shop with a Deputy” program. This will be the 22nd year for the program. On Saturday, December 7th, deputies will be standing out accepting donations in the different areas of the county from 10 am until 2 pm. The department receives a list of various children from the county elementary schools, Kindergarten to 5th grade, and then the department takes the children to Wal-Mart and each child spends $100. This program wouldn’t be possible without the devotion of the members of the Mingo County Deputy Sheriff’s Association and the generous donations and support from the great citizens of Mingo County. If anyone is interested in donating to the program can do so by bringing or mailing a check to the Mingo County Sheriff’s Department. Checks are to be made out to Mingo DSA and “Shop with a Deputy” on the memo line. 100% of ALL DONATIONS go to the children. Mingo county Sheriff’s Department, PO Box 1270 Williamson, WV 25661.
