Team Liquid's CoreJJ wins LCS MVP

Team Liquid support Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in earned League of Legends Championship Series Summer Split MVP honors, the league announced Friday. 

Team Liquid support player Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in has been named MVP of the League of Legends Championship Series summer split, the LCS announced Friday.

The 2017 world champion formed a dangerous bot lane in summer split with LCS Rookie of the Year winner Edward “Tactical” Ra. Team Liquid finished split at 15-3 atop the LCS standings and qualified for the League of Legends World Championship.

CoreJJ beat out nine other candidates, including Team SoloMid mid laner Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg, who placed second in voting. This is CoreJJ’s second MVP title, making him the second player to win multiple LCS MVP awards — Bjergsen has four.

CoreJJ’s win means Team Liquid took home Coaching Staff of the Split, Rookie of the Year and Summer Split MVP honors, sweeping the available hardware.
