The body of a teen who went missing in the Russell Fork River on Saturday at Breaks Interstate Park has been found.
Elkhorn City Volunteer Fire Department Chief Mike Irick says the body of the teen, whose name has not been officially released, was found in eight-to-ten feet of water in the Pool Point area. Search crews located the teen’s body at approximately 9 a.m. Sunday.
The teen went missing after going underwater at Pool Point Saturday evening and never resurfacing. Personnel with numerous first-response agencies, including Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, Elkhorn City Fire Department and others took part in the search.
The family of the teen has been notified.
