The Perseid meteor shower can be viewed after midnight in August

The Perseids are one of the most popular meteor showers to spectate, but in 2019 they’ll be washed out by the moon during their peak. Steven Russo, Director of the East Kentucky Science Center, advises spectators to view the Perseids in the darkest location possible and seated in a comfortable position while observing as much of the sky as possible. The Perseids peak will be on August 12 – 13, so this would be the best time to view the action.
