Pikeville, KY — A social media threat warning of possible school shootings today in Kentucky and Thursday in Arkansas have led authorities to ramp up security. The FBI has deemed the threat as not credible. However, local law enforcement agencies and school district officials remain on alert. The threat that was circulating on Facebook and other social media platforms did not name a specific school in Kentucky or Arkansas. According to Homeland Security officials, the threat was reported to the FBI in Little Rock, Arkansas from someone outside the U.S. Although the FBI said the threat is not credible, some school districts in Kentucky are taking extra precautions today. Police cruisers were seen at nearly every school in the region with Officers and Deputies conducting walk throughs and stationed outside.
