Tick season is here

With warmer weather comes more time spent outdoors.  And, for many, that means play time in the yard, hitting the hiking trails and family camping trips.  But, there is one tiny creature that also comes along with warm temperatures, and strikes fear into nearly everyone.  Ticks have already found their way into the clothing and skin of thousands of people right here in our region, and they have the potential to infect people with several horrible diseases.  Officials with the Pike County Health Department say they want people to be informed about these little arachnids, and know what to do if you find you have become a host to this creepy parasite.
