PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — An anonymous tip in Floyd County leads to a drug trafficking arrest.

Floyd County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a complaint, Monday, of possible drug trafficking out of a light green vehicle seen in the Water Gap area.

“One of the things that stuck out about the identification was the car supposedly had a bungee chord holding the trunk together,” said Sgt. Oliver Little with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office.

Later that evening, Sgt. Oliver Little spotted a vehicle matching the description. After stopping the car for not using a turn signal, Sgt. Little called for Floyd County’s K-9 unit to assist.

“When the K-9 got there, it indicated on the passenger side where Ms. Robinson was actually sitting,” added Sgt. Oliver Little. “As Ms. Robinson was getting out of the vehicle, for us to conduct the search, in the floor beside her seat was a small bag of a Crystal substance, I believed to be meth. I went ahead and detained her. At that time she stated that she had more hidden on her person. She had over 140 empty bags.”

Along with the plastic bags, police found six grams of crystal meth and digital scales.

The passenger, 28-year-old Keisha Robinson of Prestonsburg was arrested and lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center for trafficking in a control substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence.

“When normally see personal use somewhere around a half a gram or somewhere through there. She had just told me she, what they call ‘re-upped’ … that’s the street term for she had just went out and bought more. She refused to give me the information of where she got it at. That is still under investigation.”

More charges are pending in the case.
