PIKEVILLE, Ky. — The sharp eye of an off-duty police officer resulted in four people being arrested, after they had already been allowed to leave from a traffic stop.

Pikeville Police pulled over a vehicle driven by Lincoln Tyler Mullins, 29, of Pikeville, Tuesday evening on Hurricane Creek for having a cracked windshield.

After being allowed to go, an off-duty officer who spotted the stop called in to ask why 47-year-old Benjamin Tackett, of Louisa, had been stopped. But Tackett had allegedly given a different name, and that resulted in police once again pulling over the vehicle at the Double Kwik in Harold.

It turned out that both Tackett and Megan Osborn, 27, of Pikeville, had allegedly given fake names to police because they were wanted on warrants.

Mullins was also arrested for drug trafficking and possession, after police found meth in the car.

The final passenger in the car, Lilly Belcher, 28, of Mount Sterling, was also arrested for hindering prosecution, because she didn’t speak up with Tackett and Osborn gave police fake names.

All four were lodged in the Pike County Detention Center.
