PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Pikeville’s new driver’s license office is now open.
Gov. Andy Beshear announced the opening of the office at 126 Trivette Drive on Wednesday.
After the state made the move to take driver’s licenses out of circuit clerks offices and move to regional license center, the closest office for Pike County residents was in Prestonsburg.
The new office is located on the second floor of the Uniplex Center and is open Monday thru Friday, from 8 until 4.
In addition to traditional driver’s licenses and ID cards, the office also offers REAL ID licenses, which offer greater security and are required for anyone seeking to board an airplane or visit a military base.
Kentuckians also have the option to renew their license online or through the mail. To explore all of your options in obtaining or renewing a license, visit drive.ky.gov.
