INEZ, Ky. — All it took was a burned out license plate light to send a Martin County woman to jail for meth and marijuana trafficking.

A deputy sheriff pulled over Danese Crum, 30, of Inez, after noticing her license plate was not illuminated. As she retrieved her license, insurance and registration, the officer asked about some pills he spotted in the cup holder and was told they were Tylenol. He then asked to search the vehicle and Crum reportedly agreed.

The deputy found two guns and more than three-quarters of an ounce of marijuana in the vehicle, then found a bag of meth under the spare tire.

Crum reportedly told the officer the meth wasn’t hers and she hadn’t known it was there. When he weighed the drug and found it to be 23 grams, she allegedly told him, “It should weight about 27 grams.”

Crum was arrested and charged with trafficking in meth and marijuana, along with other charges.
