INEZ, Ky. — Police are investigating after two young boys were killed in a house fire Friday.

Kentucky State Police was notified about the fire at a home on Tug River Road in Inez just after 8:30 a.m.

Inside the remains of the home, firefighters found the bodies of the two boys. The Mountain Citizen reported that Martin County Coroner Chris Todd had identified the victims as Jason Lee Mollette, 1, and Greyson Marcum, 4.

The newspaper also reported that a 6-year-old child and the children’s grandmother were able to escape.

The bodies of the two boys have been taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but Kentucky State Police says foul play is not suspected.
