U.S. 52 closed after train derailment

HANOVER, W.Va. — A train derailment on the Mingo-Wyoming county line has closed a highway for up to 24 hours.

It happened early Friday morning near Hanover, W.Va. The train was loaded with coal and overturned at Hanover Wrecker Service, with train cars landing on several automobiles. No injuries have been reported.

Mingo County Emergency Management says the derailment has closed U.S. 52 at the Justice Bridge for up to 24 hours, as crews work to clean up the spill.
