Students gathered at UPike on Wednesday for their official Move-In day for the new Freshman Class. Returning students helped these freshmen by giving tours, unloading their vehicles, and just providing support and comradery amongst their peers. UPike President, Dr. Burton Webb, states that the students are like family and will help each other towards the common goal of graduating. Their official “Climb” ceremony will start this Friday, August 21st at 8:00 PM, which includes all freshmen receiving pins and walking up the “99” stairs to the Benefactor Plaza. As part of the tradition, they will descend these same steps as they make their way to the Appalachian Wireless Arena for the graduation ceremony.
