Williamson home damaged in fire

WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — A Williamson home sustained heavy damage in a fire early this morning.

Firefighters from Williamson and Chattaroy were called to the home near West Fourth Avenue and Ben Street just before 5:30 Monday morning. Heavy black smoke was billowing from the home when they arrived.

With quick action, crews were able to limit the fire damage to a closet, hallway and attic, but the entire home sustained heat, smoke and water damage.

All of the occupants were able to escape, and no one was injured.
