COEBURN, Va. — Police have arrested a Wise County man, after a woman was stabbed last week.

A call came in to 911 around 10:30 Thursday night, reporting that someone had been stabbed during a domestic dispute on Buckingham Road in Coeburn.

When Wise County deputies arrived at the home, they found a woman with multiple stab wounds to her head. The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Joshua Lewis Santiago, 22, was identified as the suspect. He was arrested and charged with malicious wounding. Police say additional charges are possible.

Santiago is currently being held in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail at Duffield.
