A Pike County woman is facing a felony charge in relation to a deadly crash in Pikeville in January.
24-year-old Kristen Damron was indicted this week on a second-degree manslaughter charge. Damron was driving her vehicle on Chloe Road in Pikeville on January 16 when she lost control and collided with an oncoming vehicle.
Damron’s passenger, 25-year-old Kara Patrick, was killed in the crash.
Pike Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Bartley said the investigation into the wreck indicated Damron was intoxicated on meth when the crash occurred. Bartley said meth and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle.

Bartley said the wreck happened at the onset of a snowstorm. He added that investigators do not believe the snow caused the crash.
Bartley also said that prior to the crash, Damron has just left the Pike County Judicial Center where she submitted to a drug test as part of a monitored conditional release in another criminal case.
Kristen Damron is lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on charges not related to the crash. She could face 10 years in prison if convicted on the manslaughter charge.
