Wrightway partnering in $45 million project

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Pikeville’s Wrightway Building Solutions is partnering with Omnis Building Technologies for the construction of a $45 million project in Greenup County.

OBT is a startup manufacturer of economical, sustainable and fire-resistant doors and cabinetry. The company is building a 100,000-square foot new facility in Wurtland which will create 55 jobs.

Wrightway is providing its 66-acre property at the Wurtland Riverport for the project and will lend its expertise in construction management.

“We look forward to working with [OBT President] Jonathan [Hodson] and the OBT team to provide superior products and services to Kentucky and throughout the rest of the country,” Wrightway President and CEO Shannon Wright said during a press conference with Gov. Andy Beshear to announce the project Thursday. “We are proud to be a partner in bringing innovative and long-term support to our local economy.”

The announcement comes at a busy time for the Wrightway and its affiliated companies of Wright Concrete. Its Wright-Mix Material division, currently based in West Virginia, plans to complete an expansion into Eastern Kentucky in the second quarter of next year.

Meanwhile, the company’s new headquarters in the Kentucky Enterprise Industrial Park in Pikeville is weeks away from completion.
