WV County Unemployment Numbers Released

Charleston, WV — West Virginia county unemployment numbers have been released and unemployment is on the increase for much of the state. According to statistics released by WorkForce West Virginia, statewide unemployment for October stood at 4.5 percent with 49 counties reporting increases and 6 reported no change. Throughout the region, Logan County reported 6.1 percent unemployment rate for October up from 5.6 percent reported in September. McDowell County reported 7.9 percent up from 7.6 percent and Mingo County reported 6.6 percent unemployment in October up from 5.9 percent reported in September. The National unemployment rate stands at 3.6 percent in October up from 3.5 percent reported in September.
