GRUNDY, Va. — Police fanned out across Buchanan County on Thursday, armed with arrest warrants for 38 people, 18 of which had been arrested by early evening.
The effort was led by Commonwealth’s Attorney Nikki Stiltner and Sheriff Allen Boyd, with support from a number of law enforcement agencies in the area.
“Let this be a clear message to anyone attempting to poison our community with drugs: We will relentlessly pursue you and ensure that justice is served,” Stiltner said. “We stand united with our law enforcement partners to eradicate drug trafficking from Buchanan County and will not rest until every corner is free from its destructive influence.”
“This operation demonstrates the formidable impact we can achieve through collaboration,” Boyd said. “We are committed to our mission to root out those who threaten the safety of our community with drug-related crimes. No stone will be left unturned in our pursuit of those who endanger the lives and well-being of our citizens.”
The arrests were prompted by a grand jury returning 137 indictments in the investigation. By the end of Thursday, 82 of those indictment had been served.
Those arrested by Thursday evening include:
- Brandon Adkins, 41, four counts of Distribution of Schedule I or II Controlled Substance, two counts of Distribution of Schedule I or II Controlled Substance-Conspiracy
- Phillip Andrew Adkins, 38, three counts of Distribution of Schedule III Controlled Substance, three counts Common Nuisance
- Darrell Baker, 55, three counts of Distribution of Schedule I or II Controlled Substance-Subsequent Offense, two counts of Distribution of Schedule I or II Controlled Substance-Conspiracy
- Nila Nicole Bullins, 37, one count of Distribution of Schedule I or II Controlled Substance, two counts of Distribution of Schedule III Controlled Substance (not steroid), one count Common Nuisance
- Linda Darlene Dotson, 60, two counts of Distribution of Schedule I or II Controlled Substance, three counts Common Nuisance, one count of Distribute 10g or more methamphetamine – 20 g or more mix
- Decklin Hibbitts, 23, one count of Distribution of Schedule III Controlled Substance, one count Common Nuisance
- Phillip Hurd, 38, one count Possession of Schedule I or II Controlled Substance
- Charles Dean Hurley, 39, one count of Distribution of Schedule I or II Controlled Substance – 3rd or Subsequent Offense
