GOFF BRANCH, Ky. — Kentucky State Police are conducting a murder investigation here in the Big Creek area of Martin County. A local resident and his nephew were traveling up what is known as Golf Holler to check on cattle, when they made a gruesome discovery.

“We were going up through there and one of the boys said, ‘There lays three bodies.’ I was devastated. They all appeared dead to me. So, we turned around and called the law and we waited at the mouth of the road for the state trooper to get here.”

Once State Police arrived they found three victims had been shot, two of which were deceased, and the other was transported to a local hospital in South Williamson. Other residents here in the area say they have never seen anything like this ever happen here before.

“When I came here back in 1961, nothing like this had ever happened around here. I am going to keep a gun handy and not answer the door until I know who is at the door, until they apprehend whoever this is.”

Kentucky State Police are not releasing any information at this time regarding the identity of the victims and say they are still in search of a suspect as the investigation is ongoing.
