6 killed in Logan County helicopter crash

LOGAN, W.Va. — Six people are dead following a helicopter crash Wednesday in Logan County.



It happened shortly before 5 o’clock Wednesday evening along Route 17, near a local airport. The Vietnam-era Bell UH-1B helicopter was based in Logan County and was used for tourist flights.



Authorities closed the highway in order to investigate the crash. It was expected to remain closed for at least a full day.

The victims have not yet been identified.
