PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County woman now faces a murder charge, following a fatal crash back in July.

Dusty Ratliff, 45, of Elkhorn City, was indicted last week.

Ratliff was driving a Ram 2500 back on July 16, when she crossed the center line and struck a Kia Spectra driven by 44-year-old James Kelly, of Pikeville. Kelly died at the scene.

The indictment says Ratliff was driving in such a wanton manner that she posed a grave risk of death to others.

Ratliff now faces a single count of murder, a capital offense that carries a potential sentence of either between 20 and 50 years or life in prison.
