FRANKFORT, Ky. — If new business registrations are any indication, Kentucky’s economy appears to be on the rebound from the pandemic.
Secretary of State Michael Adams says there were nearly 53,000 new business formations and foreign business registrations in 2021.
That’s a 21 percent increase over 2020.
Adams says the business boom illustrates the resilience of Kentuckians, saying many people responded to lockdown layoffs by becoming entrepreneurs.
