Lady Warriors Secure Close Win Over Lady Wildcats

The East Ridge Lady Warriors picked up a hard-fought 54-52 win over the Buckhorn Lady Wildcats on Saturday.

East Ridge had two players finish in double figures, led by Kourtlee Keene with a game-high 25 points. Oliva Stanley followed close behind with 21 points, giving the Lady Warriors a strong one-two scoring punch.

Keene shot 47.4 percent from the field and connected on just over half of her free-throw attempts. Stanley was efficient offensively as well, shooting 53.3 percent from the floor and 42.9 percent from three-point range, though she went 2-for-6 at the line.

On the boards, East Ridge saw strong efforts from Alena Dotson and Alayna Martin, who each grabbed 10 rebounds. As a team, the Lady Warriors shot 37.3 percent from the field, 25 percent from beyond the arc and 52 percent from the free-throw line, while also securing 41 boards.

The win improves East Ridge to 4-9 on the season, while Buckhorn drops to 7-8. Individual stats for Buckhorn were not available at press time.

East Ridge will be back on the court Monday, Jan. 12, when they host Pike Central for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
